Quantity Purchase - 5 Eggs at a time, no stands, shipped together. This is a real Ostrich egg with a brass hinge, no stand, cut along the short center of the egg (side to side). Unlined and ready to decorate or display, this egg is ideal for making into a jewelry box, miniature peep scene, or decorated egg box. Some artists decorate hinged eggs with polymer clay, quilling, acrylic paint, decoupage, or findings and braid.
Each of our eggs is handmade and the edges are slightly textured, not perfectly even. The hinge is positioned knuckle out, so that the egg opens all the way, the hinge is strong but not stiff, so the lid can be either open or closed, but not halfway in between on it's own.
Ostrich eggs are cream colored, @ 6 inches tall, 17 inches around tallest circumference, 16 inches around fattest circumference, 1/2 - 3/4 inch hole. The actual egg will vary in exact measurements.
