This is a real Chicken egg with a fancy or plain hinge, cut along the long middle of the egg (top to bottom) or the short side (side to side). They are sold individually... there are more eggs in the picture for detail. The egg is not glued to the stand. Unlined and ready to decorate or display, this egg is ideal for making into a jewelry box, miniature peep scene, or decorated egg box. Some artists decorate hinged eggs with polymer clay, quilling, acrylic paint, decoupage, or findings and braid. Each of our eggs is handmade and the edges are slightly textured. The hinge is positioned knuckle out, so that the egg opens all the way. The stand included is a small plastic stand that sits low to the table. Because the chicken egg is so brittle, the edges of this hinged egg will not be perfect. They are perfect for decorating, but there will be tiny chips - unlike the hinged goose or duck which can be a very clean cut.
