This is a real Goose egg on a wooden tripod stand with a fancy hinge on the fat bottom of the egg. The egg is cut along the length (end to end). It opens like a bird's beak. The egg is not glued to the stand. Unlined and ready to decorate or display, this egg is ideal for making into a jewelry box, miniature peep scene, or decorated egg box. Some artists decorate hinged eggs with polymer clay, quilling, acrylic paint, decoupage, or findings and braid. This egg is cut and hinged to mimic one of Faberge's famous styles of decorative egg, although this is a real goose egg and his work was all metal. Each of our eggs is handmade and the edges are slightly textured. The hinge is positioned knuckle out, so that the egg opens all the way.
