This is a real Rhea egg on a clear plastic stand with an Oval Door cut into the front, and hinged with a real brass hinge. The door opens all the way, the hinge positioned knuckle out. The door may open either way, positioning of the hinge depends on the individual egg. Unlined and ready to decorate or display, this egg is ideal for making into a jewelry box, miniature peep scene, or decorated egg box. Some artists decorate hinged eggs with polymer clay, quilling, acrylic paint, decoupage, or findings and braid.
Each of our eggs is handmade and the edges are slightly textured.
Rhea eggs are @ 4.75 inches long, cream colored, and with the texture of Ostrich egg. Smaller than Ostrich and Emu, larger than goose - they are really fun. The curve cut will be slightly different on each egg to match their individual personalities. The hole is on the fat end of the egg.
