These Grouse (Prairie Chicken) feathers are not from my own flock, but from a nearby farmer who was raising them for his own table in a loving and humane way. Grouse have a variety of really different looking feathers all over their bodies, and these are the back feathers that sport a small light spot at the top of the feather, called an eye. I call them Spotted, which isnÕt very technical but it works. They are 1.5 - 3 inches long, narrow and thin. The ends are kind of spiky feathery, slightly stiff, and the feather base is fuzzy. Clean and gorgeous.
